Mentorship for Early-Career Professionals

Hit the Ground Running!

I offer mentorship for early-career clinicians, to help you develop the skills, confidence, and judgment to make informed clinical decisions.

Mentorship can include:

  • Case discussions and feedback on therapy plans, assessments, or clinical approaches
  • Problem-solving strategies for challenging client situations
  • Resources and practical tools to support your day-to-day practice
  • Professional development guidance — from navigating workplace dynamics to continuing education opportunities

The goal is to help you grow as a clinician, develop confidence in your skills, and feel supported in providing high-quality care

Mentorship for Gender-Affirming Voice Care Providers

Jump-Start Your Care!

I offer mentorship for clinicians who are developing their skills and confidence in Gender-Affirming Voice Care. Together, we can build your knowledge, refine your approach, and strengthen your ability to make informed, affirming clinical decisions.

Mentorship can include:

  • Case discussions and feedback on assessment, goal-setting, and therapy plans
  • Strategies for supporting clients’ vocal goals while honouring their identities and lived experiences
  • Practical tools and resources for assessment, therapy, and documentation
  • Guidance on navigating inclusive practice
  • Support for professional growth — from building your caseload to advocating for affirming care in your workplace

The goal is to help you feel confident, prepared, and supported in offering high-quality, gender-affirming voice care.

Why Choose Me for Mentorship?

I bring 30 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, working in a variety of settings with clients of all ages — from newborns to people in their 90s. This breadth of experience gives me insight into diverse client needs and clinical challenges.

I regularly supervise practicum students from McGill University’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The skills I’ve developed as a Clinical Educator — providing guidance, feedback, and support — transfer directly to my mentorship practice, helping early-career SLPs build confidence and competence.

I have also offered mentorship in First Nations communities and in private practice, supporting clinicians in diverse settings and helping them navigate real-world clinical scenarios. I currently lead a weekly Canadian private practice discussion group, which has given me a broader perspective on private practice and the evolving needs of clinicians across the country.

In addition to general clinical mentorship for early-career SLPs, I offer specialized mentorship in gender-affirming voice care. This area requires both technical expertise and a deep understanding of the emotional and social dimensions of voice work. I help clinicians develop affirming, evidence-informed practices that honour each client’s goals and identity, and I provide support for building inclusive and respectful therapy environments.

I am especially proud that my former practicum student, Ethan Dziewirz (he/they/il), Speech-Language Pathologist, has sought me out specifically for mentorship in gender-affirming voice care, reflecting the trust and confidence clinicians place in my guidance.

Your first mentorship session is designed to feel collaborative and supportive.
We’ll:

  • Talk about your current caseload or practice experiences
  • Identify your goals and areas for growth
  • Discuss strategies for immediate application in your clinical work

Think of this session as a safe space to ask questions and explore your professional development.

We can develop a tailored mentorship plan based on your needs, schedule, and professional goals.
This may include:

  • Case discussions and feedback
  • Practical strategies and tools
  • Goal setting and progress check-ins

If mentorship is not required for licencing, we can also set you up to book mentorship sessions as needed.
