Land Acknowledgement
I live and work on the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples. I live on Treaty 1 territory, the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. I work in Manitoba, on land that has been cared for by Indigenous peoples for thousands of years.
My water comes from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation. Shoal Lake was under a boil water advisory for 24 years because of colonial policies that have an ongoing impact on this community.
We cannot change the past, but we can work for a better tomorrow. I support the efforts of Indigenous peoples to reclaim their rights, lands, and cultures.
